Back to the Bible!

We accept the Bible as the word of God -- “ prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.” (2 Pet. 1:20-21). Paul wrote that “every scripture is given by inspiration of God” (2 Tim. 3:16). Therefore, the Bible is not just a good book written by good men as some claim. It is “the revelation of Jesus Christ” (Gal. 1:11-12).

Since “it is not in man who walks to direct his steps” (Jer. 10:23), we trust the Bible to provide answers to life’s questions. You will find that every sermon and every Bible class here at Timberland Drive is based on the Bible. We strive to do as the Apostle Peter instructs in 1 Pet. 4:11 -- “If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God.”

If you have any questions, we invite you to sit down and study the Bible with us. But don’t be surprised when we turn to a passage in your Bible and let you read the answer for yourself. We are convinced that we can agree about what God says concerning salvation, the church, the family, worship and morality.

What Must I Do To Be Saved?

No question is more important than this. We make many important decisions in life regarding matters such as education, marriage, and occupation. But none is as transcending as that which affects our soul's eternity (Matt. 16:26).

"Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?"

Luke 9:23-25
