The End and Aim of Life

What an individual is will largely be determined by that which is the end and aim of his life. It is ever true that men are shaped by the goals to which they aspire. Paul said, “. . this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." Leading Others To Christ

While the great commission may have been originally spoken to the apostles (Matthew 28:19-20), the spirit of the commission--sharing the gospel with others-- is incumbent upon every Christian.  How can people be saved without the gospel, and how can they hear the gospel if no one shares it with them (Romans 10:14)?  May I suggest some tips that may serve you well in leading others to Christ? Are You A Winner or A Loser?

The apostle John writes to Christians who were having their faith assaulted by a liberal religious philosophy called "Gnosticism." These arrogant, elite religious teachers taught that special, secret "knowledge" was the key to a relationship with God. These false teachers defected from the faithful church (1 John 2:19), confidently denying the reality of Jesus' fleshly incarnation and the need for loving obedience to God's moral laws (1 John 2:4, 18-27; 3:7-10; 4:1-4).

Yet, despite all this, John assures us that one true believer in the Lord can defeat the entire world arrayed against us! "... this is the victory that has overcome the world-- our faith" (1 John 5:4). If we are in Christ by obedient faith and then Christ is in us, the odds against us do not count! Faith connects us to the power and blessing of the eternal God who has infinite resources (Philippians 4:13, 19). Jesus and I are majority anywhere. Satan and his henchmen are doomed. With Christ, we will always win the everlasting victory (Romans 8:37)!

So, don't let evil or discouraging problems defeat you. Look up by faith and draw closer to Jesus, who is our ever present source of help and encouragement. Let His Word abide in you and strengthen your confidence (1 John 2:14). He's Lord of all, and we share in His spiritual victory!

“We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”  (Romans 8:37)

What Must I Do To Be Saved?

No question is more important than this. We make many important decisions in life regarding matters such as education, marriage, and occupation. But none is as transcending as that which affects our soul's eternity (Matt. 16:26).

"Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?"

Luke 9:23-25
