We must make a distinction between the Old Testament and the New Testament

Failure to distinguish between the Old and the New Testament will hinder one in understanding the Bible and in obeying God's will.

The Bible itself speaks of two testaments, or covenants.
Hebrews 10:9 "Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first (covenant, h.h.), that he may establish the second (covenant, h.h.)."

The Old Testament is old because a second covenant was given.  The New Testament is new because it is the second and more recent testament and because it came after the first covenant.

Hebrews  8:13"In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old…."

What Must I Do To Be Saved?

No question is more important than this. We make many important decisions in life regarding matters such as education, marriage, and occupation. But none is as transcending as that which affects our soul's eternity (Matt. 16:26).

"Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?"

Luke 9:23-25
